In 1972, my husband, Gene LaViolette suffered a massive stroke. He was 44, I was 36. The stroke left him totally disabled, with aphasia (blocking of the communication center) and
paralyzed on his left side. Although he lived for 30 more years, he was never able to work, again. More than anything, he missed coaching especially at Brussels and then Southern Door High
School. He died in 2003.
During that time we owned a little cottage in the Town of Gardner. I still own it and LOVE it. But there was and is no way in the world I could take care of it by myself so I asked around, “Who could I hire to open and close the cottage and to do any other plumbing that needed to be done. Since I barely know the difference between a hammer and a wrench, I had to find someone I could trust. Everyone I asked told me to hire Bob Borkovetz. I did. That was 26 years ago and I have never been disappointed.
Bob and Barb value their customers. They are totally honest, very responsive, provide high quality service at a reasonable cost. And, their son did some work for me last summer. I just hope that family is around as long as I am. I am very grateful for their help!
